The Kent County Master Gardeners are planning a series of workshops for the community from September through November. Classes are held at the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension Office, Paradee Center, 69 Transportation Circle, Dover, unless otherwise stated. Fall is here! Learn the basics of canning, freezing, dehydrating, and storing so that you can rescue the last of your garden’s summer produce and make it last through the winter. Join Kent Master Gardener, Debbie Nicol, to learn how to save your seeds to start a new crop in the spring.
Water: Our Most Precious Resource

We’ve all heard the water is our most precious resource, but what does it really mean? Join Kent Master Gardener, Anita Smith, to learn how to conserve, clean, and collect water in the garden. This workshop will include specifics on building and installing your own rain barrel.

Permaculture design – what is it? Lots of people in the US, and some local, are using permaculture to grow food ecologically in various climate conditions and with a wide variety of property sizes. Join Kent Master Gardener, Rachel Yocum, to learn step-by=step examples of how to use permaculture design principles for our home garden, starting with observing a site all the way to creating a thorough map of the site and implementing a proposed design.
