Emphasis in the series of classes is on eating a variety of food; increasing fruit and vegetable consumption, whole grains, and low fat dairy products; and ideas for planning tasty low cost meals. Participants develop skills to make healthy food choices based on their budget, to use their resources wisely, to handle food safely, and to participate in physical activity each day.
