A variety of programs present preservation principles to produce high quality, safe home preserved food. Depending on the specific workshop, processes might include canning, freezing, drying and making sweet spread (jelly, jams, etc.). Call your County Extension office for a list of classes and/or to express an interest in attending a food preservation workshop.
Pressure Gauge Testing:
County Extension Family and Consumer Science Educators will test your dial gauge pressure canners to determine accuracy of the gauge. Dial gauges must be tested to assure that the pressure indicated on the dial is accurate
Pressure gauge testing is done only by appointment.
Call your local County Extension office to set up an appointment.
