Topics include nutrition, food safety, business management, child development, curriculum and health/safety. Our courses are approved through the Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Care and meet the requirements of the Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing.
Training can be scheduled onsite for groups of 15 or more. Contact the county extension office to set up these programs.

Children Youth and Family Education and Research Network (CYFERNET) is a resource for exploring early childhood resources and discover useful and practical information to guide you in the care and nurturing of young children. There are a variety of topics including business management issues.

Better Kid Care – Penn State Cooperative Extension’s program efforts for child care provider training. Online training opportunities are approved through the Delaware Office of Child Care Licensing.

National Child Care Information and Technical Assistance Center – this site supported by the Office of Child Care, is a national clearinghouse and technical assistance (TA) center that provides comprehensive child care information resources and TA services to Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Administrators and other key stakeholders.

...read more]]> This educational program is dedicated to strengthening women’s roles in the modern farm enterprise. Through a series of 8 sessions women learn about key topics to help them improve their decision making and risk management skill in their role as farm operators.  Topics include personality IQ, business management, insurance topics, estate planning, credit and debt management, business planning, direct marketing and computer technology on the farm.

The Delaware program is offered in cooperation with University of Maryland Cooperative Extension and is supported in part from a grant from the Northeast Center for Risk Management Education and USDA.

Annie’s Project is a national program offered in 28 states. This site provides information about these programs and the history of this program.

The Delaware Small Business and Technology Development Center exists to strengthen Delaware’s economic base by providing quality services such as management assistance, educational programs, and resources to Delaware’s business community and potential entrepreneurs. The Delaware SBTDC, which operates in partnership with the University of Delaware and Delaware State University can turn to faculty, students, and state-of-the-art library facilities to answer business questions. In addition, the SBTDC can access a national network of over 4,000 professional business consultants as well as a national research clearinghouse to meet the unique needs of Delaware’s businesses.

Small Business Association – at the national level the SBA has a website that provides information from start-up to financing to business opportunities

Service Corps of Retired Executives or SCORE – this Wilmington chapter provides workshops and counseling to those interested in starting or continuing a small business in Delaware
