Volunteer educators graduate in New Castle County
Congratulations to the Master Food Educator Volunteer Class of 2016 in New Castle County. Seven graduates were presented with a certificate, name badge, and apron proudly displaying the UD Master Food Educator (MFE) logo on Thursday, March 10 at the New Castle County Cooperative Extension office. Andrea Johnson, Tariq Johnson, Michael Hadley, Carlos Dipres, Betsy Cave, Pat Cheryba, and Jean Kutcher join the ranks of 22 active MFE volunteers in Delaware.
This group is anticipating swelling their ranks even further as a current evening training through the Kent County office is taking place March 7 – April 13. Dr. Sue Snider, Kathleen Splane, Maria Pippidis and Cheryl Bush designed various elements of the training, with nutrition and food safety concepts, adults as learners, the importance of physical activity, and demonstration skill building woven into the 6-week course.
The graduates will each provide 35 volunteer hours to extend the reach of the Family & Consumer Science team in Delaware and receive a minimum of five additional hours of advanced training during the year. We look forward to welcoming our newest graduates as they assist in expanding the reach of UD Cooperative Extension through educational programs throughout our communities.Print This Post
