July tours of Master Gardener demonstration gardens

Experience gardening at its finest in July. Two beautiful demonstration gardens, designed and maintained by Delaware Master Gardeners will be on display in July, along with educational programs, and expert Extension advice! These incredible gardens offers visitors a close up look of what works best in the Delaware landscape. Whether your preference is vegetables, flowers, native plants, trees, shrubs or pollinators, you will find inspiration and valuable information.  Meet our expert staff of volunteers and Cooperative Extension professionals at these two special events!

Newly established meadows like this one in Georgetown, are on display!

On Saturday, July 13, 2019, 10 a.m. to 2.pm., Sussex County Master Gardeners will host their annual “Day in the Garden” with Master Gardeners out in force to answer your questions, point you to the flowers and insects to photograph, and tour the many niche gardens.  Many mini workshops, specialty gardens and a unique children’s garden make this a family favorite to attend. Registration is not required.

Gardens at the New Castle County Extension office are a delight to behold!

Saturday, July 27, 2019, New Castle County Master Gardens will host “Summer Daze in the Garden” from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. This event is back by popular demand! Workshops include Fall Vegetable Gardening and Beyond, Growing Citrus Indoors and on Your Patio; and a Tour of the Master Gardening teaching garden.
