Delaware Military 4-H Home Front Hero Camp

DELAWARE MILITARY 4-H OFFERS FREE HOME FRONT HERO CAMP MAY 1719, 2013

Military  affiliated youth from all branches of service who are aged 8‐12 will have a fun filled weekend at Mallard Lodge in Smyrna, DE, where they will make new friends, develop team building skills, as well as life skills that will help them throughout all stages of life. Youth will “shoot for the stars” as they develop competence in archery throughout the weekend. Participants will get their “BOOTS ON” as their platoon deploys on Friday night to Mallard Lodge. They will perform their assigned duties, work together as a team using the equipment and tools they receive as they use the GPS units to go to specific coordinates in order to accomplish their assigned mission.  During the weekend youth will enjoy fishing, canoeing and as well as participate in many aquatic and environmental science hands-on projects! Activities throughout the weekend will help youth participants develop important resiliency skills such as self‐esteem, problem solving, stress management and preparedness for the future.
