UD Cooperative Extension will offer a Christmas Tree Production short course on April 23, 2013 from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Delaware Department of Agriculture (DDA) headquarters in Dover (2320 South DuPont Highway, Dover, DE). Participants will learn to identify and control important insect pests and plant diseases that affect Christmas tree production.
Course instructors are Brian Kunkel, UD Extension entomologist, Nancy Gregory, UD plant diagnostician, and Jeff Brothers, DDA Plant Industries nursery inspector; guest speakers include Dr. Rick Bates of Pennsylvania State University and Tracey Olson of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
The cost of the course is $10. The course is eligible for 2 pesticide credits and/or 1 Certified Nursery Professional credit.
